Raw silk is said to have originated during the Indus Valley Civilization. Other Asian countries have also made archaeological findings of this silk. It It is a filament silk from which the gum (a component of silk) has not been removed. Pure silk, however, has had the gum removed. This simple difference in the production of the silk, makes a significant difference in the overall texture of the saree. Made from the most natural form of silk, it presents a very fresh and authentic look, retaining the luster of untreated silk and allowing the natural aura to dominate the saree.
